What is on file for my candidate? A file on every member of Congress, governor and 2026 nominee: who funds them, the decisions on their desk, and the sources.
Aaron Ford
Democrat, running for Governor. Now Attorney General.
Subject: Aaron Ford, Democratic nominee for Governor of Nevada, 2026. Attorney General since January 7, 2019, former state Senate majority leader, former math teacher and personal injury lawyer. Compiled: October 27, 2026 for the On Point Politics watchdog database, onpointpolitics.us Data cutoff: Nevada third quarter contributions and expenses reports covering July 1 to September 30, 2026, as reported October 17 to 21, 2026. AdImpact ad totals as of October 17, 2026. Next scheduled data drop: The next Nevada Secretary of State contributions and expenses report after the election. The exact due date was not verified.
Bottom line up front
Ford won the June 9 primary with 63.3 percent over Alexis Hill, per Ballotpedia, ballotpedia.org. In 2026 through September 30 his campaign raised almost $5 million and Forward Nevada PAC just over $4 million, per KTVN on October 20, 2026, 2news.com. In the third quarter he raised more in direct gifts than Lombardo for the first time, almost $2.3 million to just over $1.5 million, but entered October with $1.3 million in cash to Lombardo's $2.8 million, per The Nevada Independent on October 17, 2026, thenevadaindependent.com.
Three interests combine money and a decision:
- Labor unions. AFSCME gave Forward Nevada PAC $500,000 in each of the second and third quarters. SEIU gave $250,000 and the IBEW PAC Educational Fund $200,000. The Culinary Union is canvassing for him. The lever is right to work repeal, the budget and labor bills Lombardo vetoed.
- The Democratic Governors Association. $7 million to A More Affordable Nevada PAC in the third quarter, which had spent or reserved more than $14.1 million in ads.
- Small donors. About 14 percent of his third quarter direct money came in gifts of $100 or less, against about 2 percent for Lombardo.
Committee structure and treasurer
Ford's own vehicles are his campaign committee and Forward Nevada PAC. A More Affordable Nevada PAC is DGA affiliated and separate from his committees. Secretary of State IDs and treasurers were not verified, because the nvsos.gov report viewer returned no readable content. In the first quarter of 2026 his side spent nearly $500,000 on consultants, travel and office supplies, per The Nevada Independent on April 16, 2026, thenevadaindependent.com. No vendor names were found.
Bloc: Labor unions
Documented. Forward Nevada PAC took $500,000 from AFSCME and $400,000 from hedge fund manager Aaron Sosnick in the second quarter, per The Nevada Independent on July 16, 2026, thenevadaindependent.com. In the third quarter it took $500,000 from AFSCME, $250,000 from SEIU and $200,000 from the IBEW PAC Educational Fund. UAW Region 6 endorsed him. The Culinary Union hosted Kamala Harris for him on October 22, 2026, and its spokesperson said it has canvassed thousands of doors, per Fox5, fox5vegas.com.
What they want. Ford would repeal Nevada's right to work law, per The Nevada Independent on August 6, 2026, thenevadaindependent.com. He would raise the minimum wage without naming a figure and sign the drug price cap Lombardo vetoed, per KOLO on October 9, 2026, kolotv.com. He wants per pupil K 12 spending at the national average, roughly $2 billion, without new taxes.
Inference: Two of the three largest named gifts to Forward Nevada come from national public employee unions. A Ford win puts state worker contracts and the budget in front of his top PAC donors, the same structural question the file asks of Lombardo's donors.
Bloc: Party and leadership, the DGA
Documented. The DGA gave $7 million to A More Affordable Nevada PAC in the third quarter. That PAC had spent or reserved more than $14.1 million by October 17. Its September 21 ad attacks the "Lombardo Trump economy" and his vetoes of drug cost and renter measures, per the DGA, democraticgovernors.org. Through early July Democrats had spent only about $77,000 on ads to more than $13.3 million for Lombardo's side.
Inference: Ford's own committees could not match Lombardo's PACs, so the DGA vehicle is carrying most of the Democratic air war.
Bloc: Small donors
Documented. Nearly 13,000 individual donors and $185,800 in gifts of $100 or less in the second quarter, per the Nevada Current on July 17, 2026, nevadacurrent.com. About 64 percent of his money from donors above $100 came from outside Nevada in the spring, against 25 percent for Lombardo.
Positions and record
He co sponsored the 2015 bill that gave data centers tax breaks, and now pledges to pause new breaks and make data centers provide their own power, per The Nevada Independent on August 28, 2026, thenevadaindependent.com. He would limit corporate home purchases, cap rent deposits at one month, end the death penalty, oppose Question 7 voter ID and support Question 6 abortion rights. As attorney general he has sued the Trump administration and cites billions in opioid settlements without a specific total.
Own finances and disclosure history
No Nevada financial disclosure statement was retrieved. His campaign reports show about $99,000 on out of state hotels since he took office, about $30,000 of it not clearly tied to calendar trips, per The Nevada Independent on March 22, 2026, thenevadaindependent.com.
Enforcement and controversies
- Ethics complaint on travel. Contested. Former Clark County GOP chair Bernie Zadrowski filed a complaint over trips from the Attorney General Alliance, which Ford chaired in 2024 and which is funded largely by corporations. On February 17, 2026 a review panel found just and sufficient cause on four parts of ethics law, including gifts and use of official social media to amplify campaign accounts, per News 3, news3lv.com. Ford says he disclosed every trip under a law he backed and regrets none, per KTNV on June 19, 2026, ktnv.com. No final opinion was found as of October 15.
- Days out of state. Contested. Better Nevada PAC ads say he missed 420 days. Records show at least 322 days since 2019, 137 in 2024, mostly at attorney general conferences. His campaign disputes the 420 figure.

Campaign intel
- Main message. Get Nevada "out of this Lombardo Trump economy": lower costs, limits on corporate home buying, a drug price cap, data centers that pay for their own power, and a governor who is not bought by billionaire donors. kolotv.com and nevadacurrent.com
- Biggest vulnerability as opponents frame it. "High Flyin' Ford": corporate funded attorney general trips and the claim he missed 420 days of work, backed by an ethics complaint a panel advanced in February; Ford says every trip was disclosed and he has no regrets. ktnv.com
- Strongest coalition. Hispanic voters, 51 to 20, and women, 48 to 37, in Emerson's September poll, plus organized labor led by the Culinary Union's door knocking. emersoncollegepolling.com and fox5vegas.com
- Weak spot in polling. Public safety and crime, where voters trust Lombardo by 12 points, with independents tied at 32 and no party candidate Danielle Ford at 7 percent in Noble Predictive Insights; his favorable rating of 41 to 38 trails Lombardo's 49 to 39 in Emerson. noblepredictiveinsights.com and emersoncollegepolling.com
- Recent event. Kamala Harris rallied for him at the Culinary Union in Las Vegas on October 22, 2026, calling him a chance to elect Nevada's first Black governor. fox5vegas.com
- Money gap. He trails: $1.3 million campaign cash to Lombardo's $2.8 million, nearly $2.7 million in PAC money to more than $5.8 million excluding governors groups, and $14.1 million in DGA side ads to $29.3 million for Better Nevada PAC, though his campaign outraised Lombardo's directly in the third quarter. thenevadaindependent.com
